Digital Thought Disruption is a personal technology publication operated by Paul Bryant and is independent of his employer. This policy explains what information may be collected when you visit or interact with digitalthoughtdisruption.com, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information We Collect
Information you provide. If you leave a comment, the site collects the comment, your name, your email address, and any optional website address you provide. If you subscribe to updates, WordPress.com and Jetpack may process your email address, subscription choice, and related request information to provide that service.
Information collected automatically. The site and its service providers may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, referring page, pages viewed, approximate geographic area, and the date and time of a request. This information supports site delivery, security, spam prevention, consent management, and measurement.
Comments, Gravatar, and Spam Protection
When visitors leave comments, the site collects the information shown in the comment form together with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent. An email-derived identifier may be provided to Gravatar to determine whether you use that service. After a comment is approved, the name, comment, and any associated public profile image may be visible publicly.
Jetpack and WordPress.com may process and synchronize comment information needed to operate their features. Akismet may receive comment information, including the name, email address, website, IP address, user agent, referrer, and comment content, to check for spam and abuse. Analytics
Independent Analytics. The site uses Independent Analytics, a first-party, cookieless measurement tool. It records information such as page views, sessions, referring sources, approximate geographic area, device type, operating system, and browser. Independent Analytics uses the IP address locally to determine an approximate location and to generate a one-way identifier, but it does not store the original IP address. Its analytics records are stored in this site’s WordPress database.
Google Analytics. Google Analytics operates under Google Consent Mode. Before consent, limited cookieless pings may be sent while analytics storage remains denied. If you allow Statistics cookies, Google Analytics may set cookies and process information such as page views, interactions, approximate location, device and browser information, and referring sources. Embedded Content and External Links
Post likes and other WordPress.com interactions may be associated with a visitor’s WordPress.com account. Sharing tools may send the page URL and technical information to the selected social platform when you use them.
Articles may include embedded content or links to third-party websites, including videos, documents, social platforms, and technical resources. Embedded content may behave as if you visited the originating website directly. Those providers may collect data, use cookies, or track interactions according to their own policies. Following an external link also places your activity under the destination site’s privacy practices.

Retention
Approved comments and their metadata may be retained indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognized and moderated. Analytics, security, consent, and subscription information is retained according to site settings, operational needs, and the policies of the relevant service provider. Information may be kept longer when required for legal, security, or abuse-prevention reasons.
Your Choices and Rights
You can reject or change optional cookie choices through the Cookie Preferences control and can also manage cookies through your browser. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with you. A deletion request may exclude information that must be retained for administrative, legal, security, or abuse-prevention purposes.
Security and International Processing
Reasonable measures are used to protect information, but no website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Children’s Privacy
This site is intended for a professional and general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Digital Thought Disruption does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
