How to upload external management pack (solution) for VMWare vRealize Operations Manager (vROPs) 8.0

Posted by

I must admit I have not added a new non-internal management pack to vROPs since 6.x.  I thought I would take a moment to write a refresher article and maybe help those who are attempting to do it for the first time.  I hope y’all find this article useful.

Step 1. Get to add mgmt pack screen

This E-EULA is a legally binding agreement between the entity that has

As you can see from my example the new package has been deployed.
If you click on the three dots it will show you what it encompasses.

Note:
The content list may be incomplete for some
older installations. The list will only be able to
display content which was deployed using the
new installer. Older items deployed through
the use of scripts may be missing from this list.
When uninstalling a solution, items which are
not part of this list must be cleaned up
manually once the uninstall process is
complete.
This list only shows content to which you have
access. The list will not contain items which are
owned by other users and shared with you.
The numbers in parenthesis denote the
number of items installed during the initial
deployment and may not reflect the current
status. To see a list items which currently exist
in the system, expand each node.

Now you can play with all the new widgets that have been added.

Summary:
Uploading additional management packs has never been and should never be difficult.  However, if you haven’t done it in a while like myself then you may need a quick refresher.  It beats clicking around till your finger’s muscle memory kicks in.  As always I hope someone finds this quick how to useful.
